MerCruiser Ignition Coil Service Procedures 3 0L 4 3L 5 0L 5 7L 6 2L 8 2L

The following ignition coil service procedures detail the removal and installation for 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 and 2006 MerCruiser 5.0L, 5.7L and 6.2L MPI engines. 

Models these procedures apply to:

Sterndrive (MCM)

5.0L MPI Alpha and Bravo, 350 MAG MPI Alpha and Bravo, 350 MAG MPI Alpha and Bravo Horizon, MX 6.2 MPI, MX 6.2 MPI Horizon

Inboard and Tow Sports (MIE)

350 MAG MPI Inboard, 350 MAG MPI Horizon Inboard, MX 6.2 MPI Inboard, MX 6.2 MPI Horizon Inboard, 350 MAG MPI Tow Sports. 

IGNITION COIL

REMOVAL

1. Detach the wire harness connector that is attached to the coil. 
2. Detach the wire harness connector leading to the ignition module.
3. Take off the high tension lead from the coil. 
4. Take off the coil bracket assembly from the motor by first removing the coil bracket fasteners.
5. Take off the coil from the coil bracket.

INSTALLATION

1. Reinstall the the coil bracket and the coil to the motor bracket, reuse the same fasteners unless damaged.
2. Reconnect the high tension coil lead back to the coil.
3. Reconnect the wire harness connections to the coil and ignition module, including any other harness removed.

IMPORTANT: Apply roughly 1/2 ounce of silicone dielectric compound surrounding the top of the hight tension lead tower before connecting the high tension lead (coil wire). However, never apply the compound inside the hole on the tower.

Special Material Needed: Silicone Dielectric Compound, apply to the coil high tension lead tower. Part number 92-823506-1

Toyota launched the latest generation Vios 2013 with world premiere in Thailand yesterday in Bangkok Motor Show 2013 event. As the photos that circulated yesterday, the All New Vios undergone many changes both from the exterior to the interior.

1 Fascia

Display All-New Vios now more sporty than the previous model. Where has the design of V Shaped reversed with a large grille makes it look more aggressive fascia.

With the face of a more character designs and stylish design, Toyota also has better aerodynamics level. Design grille and bumper with bigger air intake to provide good support in efficiency.

2 Headlamp

All New Vios 2013 now comes with using a projector headlamp lighting the lamp so that more focus. Not only that the display faces and new lights also All New Vios looks more luxurious too.

But the type of projector lamp is said to be available only on the type of 1.5 S and 1.5 G. Looking for other types it is only as an additional option.

3 Exterior

On the back of the stern also seen a lot of changes with the new model as well as the brake lights include LED technology.

Even at the bottom of the bumper also comes right reflector on each end of the bumper that makes the impression of a wider body.

4 Interior

6 Engine

Engine performance still carried with a capacity of 1.5 liter 1NZ-FE coded. With a compression ratio of 10.5: 1 can generate a power of 109 hp at 6.00 rpm with peak torque of 141 Nm at 4.200 rpm.

Types A and E will get a choice of 5-speed manual transmissions and 4-speed automatic. Being the type of G and S is only available automatic transmission only.

7 Dimensions

Long dimension of the All-New Vios 2013 is 4.410mm, width 1,700 and height 1.475mm. For New Vios S as the highest type of the legs will get bigger that the size 195/50 R16 was the type underneath with 185/60 R15.

With a ground clearance of 145mm, New Vios 2013 weighs just 1.075kg for Type S. Looking for the lowest variant of the J manual transmission or a model of the lightest at only 1020 kg.
